---------------------
UPGRADE FROM 2.6.3
---------------------
0. For simplicity we will assume your newly downloaded ZT files are already
unzipped and residing in a folder named "/downloads/zentrack_2-6-4/"
and that your current install is in a folder called "/web/zentrack/".
1. Make backups of the following files (you will want these settings later)
/web/zentrack/www/header.php
/web/zentrack/includes/egate_config.php
2. Copy new downloads over existing files:
/downloads/zentrack_2-6-4/includes/* -> /web/zentrack/includes/*
/downloads/zentrack_2-6-4/www/* -> /web/zentrack/www/*
3. Run the install/UPGRADE_yourdb.sql script
You may do this from the command line with something like:
mysql -u username -p database < UPGRADE_mysql.sql (mysql)
@c:\directory\UPGRADE_oracle.sql (oracle/sql+)
Or you may do this by copying and pasting the contents of this script
into your sql interface (sql server query analyzer, phpmyadmin, etc)
4. Check directory permissions if you are running on unix:
chmod 777 /web/zentrack/includes/attachments
chmod 777 /web/zentrack/includes/logs
chmod 777 /web/zentrack/includes/cache
chmod 777 /web/zentrack/includes/translations
chmod 755 /web/zentrack/includes/egate.php
chmod 755 /web/zentrack/includes/egate_create.php
5. Configure new features:
NEW FIELD MAPS: There is a new field map that controls what can be accessed
by the new http api, called api_view
NEW EGATE SCRIPTS: There are no longer separate scripts for admin and
ticket create. The new script has a dual function: new emails create a new
ticket and replies create logs in the existing ticket.
You will now need to configure your cron tasks to point
to a new file, based on your old config:
egate_create.php -> egate_pipe_helpdesk.php
egate_check_create.php -> egate_pop3_helpdesk.php
6. See AFTER UPGRADE below
---------------------
UPGRADE FROM 2.6.2
---------------------
0. For simplicity we will assume your newly downloaded ZT files are already
unzipped and residing in a folder named "/downloads/zentrack_2-6-3/"
and that your current install is in a folder called "/web/zentrack/".
1. Run the install/previous/2.6.3.UPGRADE.sql script
You may do this from the command line with something like:
mysql -u username -p database < 2.6.3.UPGRADE_mysql.sql
Or you may do this by copying and pasting the contents of this script
into your sql interface
2. Configure new features:
NEW FIELD MAPS: There is a new field map that controls what the creator
of a ticket can see, called ticket_cview.
NEW SETTINGS: There is now a setting to control whether email activity
is added into the log, called log_email_details
3. You now have the equivalent of 2.6.3 installed, so follow
instructions for UPGRADE FROM 2.6.3
---------------------
UPGRADE FROM 2.6.1
---------------------
0. For simplicity we will assume your newly downloaded ZT files are already
unzipped and residing in a folder named "/downloads/zentrack_2-6-2/"
and that your current install is in a folder called "/web/zentrack/".
1. Run the install/previous/2.6.2.UPGRADE.sql script
You may do this from the command line with something like:
mysql -u username -p database < 2.6.2.UPGRADE_mysql.sql
Or you may do this by copying and pasting the contents of this script
into your sql interface
2. Configure new features:
NEW FIELD MAPS: There are now two new field maps for searchbox_ticket
and searchbox_project, they control the behavior of searchbox windows.
Have a look at these and configure to your liking:
Administration -> Edit Field Map -> searchbox_ticket|searchbox_project
There is now an option to expand the left nav menu whenever the recent history
is pointed to with the mouse. This allows the full ticket titles to be viewed
without using up screen real estate. If this option is too radical of a change
from what you are used to, you can disable it:
Administration -> Configuration Settings -> expand_history
The "export search results" option now has its own field map. You will
probably want to set this up to look like your search_list field map, but
may wish to customize options to your liking:
Administration -> Edit Field Map -> search_export
3. You now have the equivalent of 2.6.2 installed, so follow
instructions for UPGRADE FROM 2.6.2
---------------------
UPGRADE FROM 2.6.0.4
---------------------

You may do this from the command line with something like:
mysql -u username -p database < 2.6.1.UPGRADE_mysql.sql
Or you may do this by copying and pasting the contents of this script
into your sql interface
2. Check Priority Coloring
You will want to log into your system and check coloring of your priorities
in the ticket list. The background coloring for different priorities is now
set under Administration -> Priorities.
If you have customized your priorities (added/removed/renamed) then you must
manually enter colors for these. Here are some suggestions:
Lowest: #FFFFFF
Very Low: #FFFFCC
Medium: #FFDDBB
High: #FFBBAA
Very High: #FF9999

to the following: ERROR 1062 (23000) at line 299: Duplicate entry '108' for key 1
This error can be ignored. It occurs because the lines it is trying to add
already exist in PRE1, which is fine.
--------------------
UPGRADE FROM 2.5.0.2
--------------------
-> Update includes/egate_config.php manually, it has changed, do not overwrite it with your old file!
-> Update www/header.php manually, it has changed, do not overwrite it with your old file!
1. Upgrade your database:
Run the sql file install/previous/2.5.5.1.UPGRADE_[yourdb].sql file using your favorite
sql interface (you may also open the file and run the statements directly if
this is easier for you).
2. Follow instructions for UPGRADE FROM 2.5.5
--------------------
UPGRADE FROM 2.5.0.1
--------------------
You must update header.php manually, you may not copy over your old
header.php file!
Run the sql file install/previous/2.5.0.2.UPGRADE_[yourdb].sql file using your favorite
sql interface (you can open the file and run the statements directly if
this is easier for you). This will upgrade you to 2.5.0.2 database.
Follow instructions for 2.5.0.2.
--------------------
UPGRADE FROM 2.5.0
--------------------
Follow instructions for 2.5.0.1
(2.5.0.1 contains only bug fixes from version 2.5.0, they are essentially the same)
--------------------
UPGRADE FROM 2.4.4
--------------------
REPLACE Your entire zentrack directory structure with the
included files: includes/ should overwrite your existing includes,
www/ should overwrite your existing www/
Set directory permissions (probably only necessary on unix)
-chmod 777 includes/attachments (if using attachments)
-chmod 777 includes/logs
-chmod 777 includes/cache
-chmod 777 includes/translations
-chmod 755 includes/egate.php
-chmod 755 includes/egate_create.php

sql interface (you can open the file and run the statements directly if
this is easier for you). This will upgrade you to the 2.5.0.1 database (the database
version between 2.5.0 and 2.5.0.1 are identical).
Follow install instructions for 2.5.0
--------------------
UPGRADE FROM 2.4.3
--------------------
Follow install instructions for 2.4.4
(Because there are no database changes between 2.4.3 and 2.4.4, the
install procedure for 2.4.3 is exactly the same as 2.4.4.)
--------------------
UPGRADE FROM 2.4.2
--------------------
IMPORTANT USAGE NOTE:
The ability to create new projects is now controlled by a separate access level
than ticket creation, see level_create and level_create_proj in the admin->config menu
for more details
Run the sql file install/previous/2.4.3.UPGRADE_[yourdb].sql file using your favorite
sql interface (you can open the file and run the statements directly if

--------------------
UPGRADE FROM EALIER THAN 2.4.2
--------------------
Please contact the ZT Team so that they can assist you in importing
your existing data from past versions.
--------------------------------------------
AFTER UPGRADE
--------------------------------------------
1. Remember to configure www/header.php and includes/egate_config.php as necessary
using settings from your old config files.
2. Speak Up!
Let us know you are using zentrack, meet other users,
and send us feedback on your install: http://www.zentrack.net
3. Consider a donation to the Open Source Community:
The developers spend a lot of their lives developing this product. If you like it,
give something back to the open source community! Might I recomment this project?
http://sourceforge.net/project/project_donations.php?group_id=22724
--------------------------------------------
HOW TO APPLY PATCHES
--------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT: If you are not comfortable with patches, and you have any love for your current
installation, might I recommend the manual install? Patches are not trivial if they do
not go as expected.
Patches can be downloaded from one of the following urls:
http://www.zentrack.net/modules/mydownloads/
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=22724&package_id=71190&release_id=368795
If you do not see a patch on the website that matches your desired versions, such as
upgrading from 2.5.0.1 to 2.5.6, you might need to apply a series of patches, such as
upgrade_2.5.0.1_to_2.5.5.patch and then upgrade_2.5.5_to_2.5.6.patch.
-> Windows Users: Unless you have and understand cygwin, use the manual upgrade.
-> '/web/zentrack' refers to your current ZT installation
-> '/tmp/zentrack_x.x.x' refers to your newly uncompressed install files.
1. Make backups of your files!!!!!!!!
2. Apply the patch:
cd /web/zentrack
patch --dry-run -p2 < /tmp/zentrack_x.x.x/install/upgrade_y.y.y_to_x.x.x.patch (test it first)
patch -p2 < /tmp/zentrack_2.5.5/install/upgrade_y.y.y_to_x.x.x.patch
3? If you modified the directory structure during your installion (renamed or moved
your www/ or includes/ folders) you can make the patch work by simulating this structure:
For instance, if your directory structure looks like this:
/web/my_website/htdocs/zt (location of my www/ folder)
/usr/lib/zentrack/zt_includes (location of my includes/ folder)
Then you could use these links to make the patch work as expected:
mkdir /tmp/zentrack
ln -s /web/my_website/htdocs/zt /tmp/zentrack/www
ln -s /usr/lib/zentrack/zt_includes /tmp/zentrack/includes
Then run your patch as follows:
cd /tmp/zentrack
patch --dry-run -p2 < /tmp/zentrack_x.x.x/install/upgrade_y.y.y_to_x.x.x.patch (test it first)
patch -p2 < /tmp/zentrack_x.x.x/install/upgrade_y.y.y_to_x.x.x.patch
