Installation of PWhere

PWhere (PHP Where) is a server application and stores its information on a
database server.  You can use the program on any web server that has
capability to run php scripts.

Requirements:
- Web server with PHP support (Apache recommended)
- MySQL database server



Installation steps:
- rename pwhere-conf.php.txt to pwhere-conf.php
- edit pwhere-conf.php and configure the database connection and the program
  language ("en" or "it")
- copy pwhere.php and pwhere-conf.php to a directory accessible by the web
  server
- create a new database and load pwhere-empy.sql into it
- point your browser to pwhere.php and start using PWhere!

On Windows platform, if you don't have Apache and MySQL installed, you can
download XAMPP http://www.apachefriends.org/.

Installation example on XAMPP for Windows


XAMPP installation path: C:\Program Files\xampp

Start XAMPP by double clicking on
C:\Program Files\xampp\xampp-control

Press on the Start buttons of Apache and MySQL

Rename pwhere-conf.php.txt to pwhere-conf.php
Copy pwhere.php and pwhere-conf.php in C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs

Start mysql command line:
C:\Program Files\xampp\mysql\bin\mysql -u root

Create the database:
CREATE DATABASE pwhere;
\q

Copy the empty database pwhere-empty.sql in
C:\Program Files\xampp\mysql\bin

Load the empty database
C:\Program Files\xampp\mysql\bin\mysql -u root < pwhere-empty.sql

You can now delete pwhere-empty.sql

PWhere is installed!
Start your browser and point it at http://localhost/pwhere.php
