dizzyPages Installation

Requirements

- A web server with PHP (http://www.php.net/downloads.php)
  and MySQL (http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/4.0.html) installed.
- Prepare a MySQL database and user for dizzyPages to use. These may be
preexisting or shared for other uses. All dizzyPages database objects are
prefixed with 'DZE_' to insure that they do not conflict with existing
  database objects.
- MySQL must have InnoDB (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/InnoDB.html)
  storage active.

Installation steps

1 Unzip the archived dizzyPages zip file into a programs directory. This
directory should not be located in the web servers content directories.
  Possible directories are:

      Linux: /var or /opt
      Windows: C:/Program Files

After the archive is unzipped you will have an [install directory] like:

      Linux: /var/dizzypages or /opt/dizzypages
      Windows: C:/Program Files/dizzypages

2 Use a text editor to update the [install directory]/htdocs/dze.xml
configuration file. Set the directory value to your [install directory].

3 Use a text editor to update the [install directory]/config.xml
configuration file. Set the mysql_server, mysql_db, mysql_user, and
mysql_password so that dizzypages has access to the MySQL database.

4 Move the contents of [install directory]/htdocs to the root content
  directory of your web server.

5 In a browser run the http://[your server address]/dze_install.php
installation script. If the script reports an error, correct the error then
rerun the installation script. Upon successful completion the installation
script will report that 'dizzyPages installation completed ...'.

6 Click the 'dizzyPages CASE tool' hyperlink to enter your newly installed
  dizzyPages.

7 Register a new user and log in to start building a dizzyPages application.
